Dreaming of a little relaxation, peace, and a warm bath? Packed with amazing skin benefits, this Mint Oatmeal Bath Soak is chock-full of excellent ingredients that are beneficial to your skin, body, and mind that it is like having a mini spa experience at home.
Having become a familiar ingredient in many all-natural beauty products oatmeal improves, repairs and soothes itching, dry, and irritated skin. Mint Leaves have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, moisturizing and calming to dry, itchy skin.
I made this Oatmeal and Mint blend for the first time for myself after spending a weekend in Daytona and spending too much time in the sun. I could barely move and was in agony. After soaking in the minty freshness and milky oatmeal, I was relieved from the burning sensation of the sunburn. It helped so much; we have used it every time there is a sunburn in the family that needs to be tended to. Use with my After Sun Skin Lotion for a complete sunburn regimen.
In addition to using this Bath Soak for you and your family, it would make a lovely gift for a teacher or Mother’s Day gift! I hope you enjoy the bath soak!
To create a luxurious and relaxing experience just add the Soak to your warm bath water. It feels amazingly silky and moisturizing. The baking soda serves as a natural and delicate cleanser, so there is no need to use any other soap. After you emerge from your soak, and skin is still wet, or while you are soaking in the tub, use as a scrub and mask!
My favorite way to use this soak is as a three-for-one!
First, I draw my bath with warm water and hang my tea bag on the faucet. The water becomes beautifully and luxuriously milky.
While the tub is filling, I prepare my scrub/mask in a small glass dish.
2 Tsp of the oatmeal mixture
1/2 tsp milk
This ratio creates a grainy, pasty texture.
Because my T-Zone is dry I use milk. (Use water if you have normal skin.)
After I place the glass dish in the corner of the tub, I submerge myself in the warm, milky, heavenly bath.
After soaking for a few minutes, the steam and hot water have penetrated and opened my pores. Using circular motions I massage the scrub on my face and neck. I always start at my nose, moving outwards.
I then relax in the tub for another 10-15 minutes while the oatmeal acts as a mask, drying on my skin.
Once the mask has dried, I rinse with warm water. Voila!
Cut off your phone. Pour that drink you love. Listen to your favorite music. Put on a smile. Most importantly: soak your cares away. Think positive, happy thoughts and relax.

The ingredients are quite simple being oatmeal, baking soda, brown sugar, and mint. I grow my mint in organic gardens using mushroom compost and purchase the baking soda, brown sugar and oatmeal at the Amish Community in nearby Scottsville, Ky.
♥ Oatmeal battles dryness by issuing a protecting layer on the skin. It moisturizes, cleanses, and helps to support the skin’s natural barrier function. It also contains naturally occurring antioxidants that have been found to display anti-inflammatory properties. Oatmeal turns your bath water silky and milky and is fantastic for soothing dry and irritated skin. Many people submerge in colloidal (powdered) oatmeal to relieve skin conditions such as chicken pox, poison ivy rash, and eczema.
♥ Mint creates a cooling, rejuvenating sensation on the skin which can help to soothe tired and sore muscles. The aroma relieves stress and tension and is uplifting and invigorating.
♥ Baking Soda increases the pH of the skin, which soothes itchiness, helps to calm and reduce itchiness.
♥ Brown Sugar is the finest grain sugar. It contains vitamin B, specifically, Nicotinamide, a derivative of Vitamin B3 (Niacin), which has been shown to enhance the ability of the epidermis layer of the skin to retain moisture. Capacity to retain moisture leads to softer, smoother skin with less dryness and flakiness, and a reduction of fine lines.
