Having become a familiar ingredient in many all-natural beauty products oatmeal improves, repairs and soothes itching, dry, and irritated skin. Joining the moisturizing advantages of this grain with the calming and soothing attributes of chamomile flowers results with even more healing benefits for your skin; not to mention upping the luxuriousness factor about a thousand times.
When I first used this oatmeal bath, it was a noisy day in our household. My 5-year-old son was fussy, cranky and miserable. I needed something to help calm him and soothe him. I blended the oatmeal and chamomile bath for him and let him soak for about 15 minutes. By the time he was dried off, he was calmed and ready for bed. I use it myself when I need some extra help getting to sleep.
The ingredients are quite simple being oatmeal, baking soda, brown sugar, and chamomile. I grow my chamomile in organic gardens using mushroom compost and purchase the baking soda, brown sugar and oatmeal at the Amish Community in nearby Scottsville, Ky. 
♥ Oatmeal battles dryness by issuing a protecting layer on the skin. It moisturizes, cleanses, and helps to support the skin’s natural barrier function. It also contains naturally occurring antioxidants that have been found to display anti-inflammatory properties. Oatmeal turns your bath water silky and milky and is fantastic for soothing dry and irritated skin. Many people submerge in colloidal (powdered) oatmeal to relieve skin conditions such as chicken pox, poison ivy rash, and eczema. 
♥ Chamomile is a relaxing, calming and anti-inflammatory herb. It also adds to the relaxing smell (aromatherapy during your bath!) Chamomile is considered an excellent herb for kids. In the tub, it serves to soothe local inflammation and skin irritations. Emotionally, chamomile can help to calm down a cranky or angry child and ease them right off to sleep!
♥ Baking Soda increases the pH of the skin, which soothes itchiness, helps to calm and reduce itchiness. 
♥ Brown Sugar is the finest grain sugar. It contains vitamin B, specifically, Nicotinamide, a derivative of Vitamin B3 (Niacin), which has been shown to enhance the ability of the epidermis layer of the skin to retain moisture. Capacity to retain moisture leads to softer, smoother skin with less dryness and flakiness, and a reduction of fine lines.

Instructions for Bath: 
♦ Add 3/4 - 1 cup to warm bath water and stir to distribute. 
♦ OR Fill your tea bag provided and dangle the tea bag under the running bath water before submerging it in the tub. 
♦ Climb in and relish this super soothing, comforting bath! 
♦ Soak 15 - 30 minutes. 
♦ You can rub the tea bag onto your skin and any problem areas. 
♦ Be sure to squeeze your bundle of Chamomile and oatmeal in your hands under the water to liberate the smooth, milky goodness from the oats.​

Instruction for Scrub: Ratio: 2 tsp scrub to 1/4 - 1/2 tsp liquid. Use water for normal skin. Use milk or cream for dry skin. 

Instructions for Mask: After scrubbing, leave on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing.


Care Instructions: 
Store this oatmeal soak in its original sealed container in your refrigerator for up to six months. Do not get water into the original container.

To create a luxurious and relaxing experience just add the Soak to your warm bath water. It feels amazingly silky and moisturizing. The baking soda serves as a natural and delicate cleanser, so there is no need to use any other soap. After you emerge from your soak, and skin is still wet, or while you are soaking in the tub, use as a scrub and mask!
My favorite way to use this soak is as a three-for-one! I draw my bath with warm water and hang my tea bag on the faucet. The water becomes beautifully and luxuriously milky. While the tub is filling, I prepare my scrub/mask in a small glass dish by scooping out 2 Tsp of the oatmeal mixture and blend with 1/2 tsp milk because my T-Zone is dry. (Use water if you have normal skin.) This ratio creates a grainy, pasty texture. Placing the glass dish in the corner of the tub, I submerge myself in the warm, milky, heavenly bath. After soaking for a few minutes, the steam and hot water have penetrated and opened my pores. I use my scrub by massaging in circular motions, starting at my nose outwards, on my face and neck. I then relax in the tub for another 10-15 minutes while the oatmeal acts as a mask, drying on my skin. Once the mask has dried, I rinse with warm water. Voila!
Versatile. This soak is safe for use on young infants, is excellent for soothing itchy skin for conditions like poison ivy and psoriasis, and also makes a great face mask.
